Abstract

This paper examines the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in revolutionizing Nigeria's educational landscape through personalized and inclusive learning approaches. In a country where education is impeded by challenges such as overcrowded classrooms, uneven teacher distribution, and limited access to quality resources, AI emerges as a disruptive innovation poised to democratize education. Technologies such as intelligent tutoring systems, learning analytics, and adaptive content delivery platforms can tailor the learning experience to accommodate each student's individual pace, preferences, and unique needs. Furthermore, AI holds the promise of enhancing educational access for underserved rural communities, learners with disabilities, and marginalized groups through mobile and low-bandwidth solutions.

However, several challenges persist, including infrastructural deficiencies, low digital literacy rates, ethical concerns surrounding data privacy, and the absence of coherent national policies for AI integration. This study critically evaluates both the opportunities and constraints associated with AI deployment in Nigeria's educational system, drawing insights from global practices and proposing ways for localized implementation. The paper concludes with practical policy recommendations that aim to leverage AI to create a more equitable and future-ready education system in Nigeria. Addressing these challenges is vital for achieving inclusive and quality education, as envisioned in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
