Abstract

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in Nigeria's public healthcare system is becoming a game-changer for addressing tenacious administrative and medical issues. AI-powered solutions have proven their ability to improve clinical decision-making, increase diagnostic accuracy, and optimize healthcare budget allocation. However, issues like inadequate digital infrastructure, worries about data privacy, and a lack of qualified workers continue to limit the broad use of these technologies in Nigeria. This study examines the existing applications, related advantages, and structural barriers of AI integration in Nigeria's healthcare system. Along with highlighting important research and practice gaps, it makes specific recommendations to aid in the creation of policies and promote the responsible use of AI by tech developers and medical professionals.
